The malnutrition levels which are so alarming is attributed to the fact that most women are illiterate and fail to adhere to the basic guidelines of what is expected of them to enhance good health through having nutrition security during and after pregnancy. The literacy classes help them therefore think effectively on health matters and be able to address them without relying on external help.
