CARITAS Zambia Programmes

Caritas Zambia has been promoting the increase to access to legal rights by women on all human rights issues. The most commonly one in recent years being gender based violence that remains unreported due to some cultural beliefs.

The program has had several sensitisation meetings and also provided mobile paralegal clinics to increase access to legal advice.

Promoting inclusiveness in economic participation as a means of attaining sustainable development.

Involving women in community structures encourages at-least 30% women participation in committees so that they can contribute to the making of meaningful decisions.

Advocate for the development of their communities through CDF


Construction of the mothers shelter, built to reduce child birth mortality at Kasaba hospital in Samfya. This was made possible by women’s involvement in the community structures responsible for decision making.
